Department of Pediatrics
Department of Pediatrics of Apex Hospitals is a Premier Tertiary level department since it takes care of both preventive and curative aspects of children’s health. The Department extends round- the- clock services with in- house pediatricians and is backed by a team of highly qualified consultants in both medical and surgical subspecialities . The department has out- patient clinics for baby checks, Immunisation and other problems and Adolescent clinics. The Ambulatory Pediatric Services Department renders round-the -clock emergency services.
The department has well equipped Neonatal intensive care units, managed by qualified nurses, duty pediatricians and backedby highly qualified consultants, neonatologists and pediatric surgeons. The Department has good Pediatric medical and surgical intensive care units. It also has neonatal and pediatric ventilation.
The department rises to the occasion in case of epidemics like Dengue, Leptospirins, Malaria or viral fevers.
All types of illnesses with or without complications are easily managed because of inter departmental references and Intensive Care Unit in the hospital. Particularly Cardiac, Respiratory, Neurological, renal and Haematological complications are competently managed with appropriate and latest modalities of treatment in the wards and Intensive Care Units. The newborn nursery also is a tertiary level centre and receives newborn infants for intensive care from all over the city. Prenatal services and counselling are also offered.
Institute of Pediatric Care provides comprehensive care to children from infants to young children. The hospital has added an upgraded facilities in the area of caring Mother & Child. This wing is serving in Gynaecology, Obstetritics and Pediatric department with an upgraded and advanced tech savvy facilities like N-ICU, P-ICU, M-ICU for the treatment of critical patient. This unit is divided into two wings Gyne & Obstretics for care of Mother and Shishu care wing for caring the childrens.
